In 2025, Ali started a $500 journalism annual scholarship at Illinois Valley Community College called “The Pen is Mightier.” If interested to contribute, visit www.ivcc.edu/givetoivcc/ and note that the donation is for the “The Pen is Mightier” scholarship.  
 
She is an avid supporter of freedom of speech and local journalism. She has been writing news for newspapers and radio stations since 2013. She was a full-time reporter for the La Salle Newstribune from 2017-2020.
